A small GEM of a show kennel located just north of Barrie, Ontario in Canada on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in the quaint Town of Waubaushene. We show, breed and sell high quality, registered Australian Shepherds. We first entered the world of purebred dogs when we acquired "Rujha's Anaka of Telakko", a striking black and tan Afghan hound. She went on to win an American Kennel Club (AKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) Championship with back to back five point majors - both in the U.S. and Canada. She was undefeated in Open Class and took multiple Group and Breed wins. Throughout the 1970's,we campaigned my "home grown" Ch Adharra's Cherokee Warpaint to his CKC Championship and were totally hooked on showing. When our daughters were born, we retired our Afghans and suspended our breeding program. We spent the next 20 years raising our family. During that time, we rescued two wonderful Golden Retrievers from abused homes, neutered them, and cherished every moment with them for the next 17 years.
Researching Australian Shepherd puppies:
When the children left the nest in 2006, and the Golden’s went to play in the fields of the “Rainbow Bridge”, we were anxious to take up the torch again. So, we spent the better part of a year and a half researching breeds. Finally, we decided on an Australian Shepherd puppy.
We knew that we wanted not just one registered Australian Shepherd puppy, but two. So, we set out to find two puppies with "the right stuff". Although it took us almost two years to do this, we felt it was important not to rush the process. Finally, we found Takoda and then Cheyenne – what a discovery! Three years later we found Charlie and just had to have him. Our Aussie family is now complete.
