Firstly, Christine is a very professional and a very caring breeder. She loves her cats and treats them like family. Before I got a kitten I researched a lot of catteries and hers definitely had the most positive reviews and you can tell when you buy a kitten from her that she goes the extra mile. Unfortunately we had an unlucky experience with her and I feel like it is unlikely to happen to anyone else who decides to get a cat from her, but in order to reduce the risk of anyone going through the same experience as I did, I decided to write this review. Christine likes to bathe the kittens before she sends them to their new homes. At the time she decided to do this with our kitten there was a sudden change in temperature, which lead to the kitten catching a cold. This resulted in us only receiving the kitten 2 or 3 weeks later than the original date. Persians and other long haired breeds are also more susceptible to ringworm than other cats and when kittens undergo a stressful experience, like moving homes or catching a cold, they run a higher risk of contracting ringworm. Our kitten caught ringworm and it is not completely certain whether she contracted before or after we got her. So my advice, especially if you have an old cat at home, is: 1. When you do a vet examination, make sure you ask the vet to check for ringworm; or 2. Request that Christine does not bathe the kitten before she send it to you; or 3. Read up and learn about ringworm in Persians; or 4. Keep your kitten quarantined for a week or 2 before you let it roam around the house freely. As mentioned earlier, I think Christine is an amazing breeder and we were just unlucky. I would have still bought the kitten from her because the kitten is a wonderful and beautiful addition to the house.
